Dr. Steven Eisenberg earned his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He completed his residency at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

In practice since 1982, Dr. Eisenberg is board certified in thoracic surgery and his primary clinical interest is lung cancer. He specializes in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, which includes coronary artery bypass surgery, heart transplant, lung transplant and lung cancer surgery. He treats patients of all ages.

Dr. Eisenberg is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons,

American College of Chest Physicians, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society. He was named by 2020 graduating seniors at McGovern Medical School as the outstanding clinical faculty member, and he also earned a 2020 Excellence in Teaching Award at McGovern.
