Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Institute-Texas Medical Center has a long history of excellence in treating patients with cardiovascular disease. At the Center for Advanced Heart Failure, dynamic and multidisciplinary teams of physicians coordinate the best possible treatment plan for each patient. The highly trained physicians affiliated with the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School are board certified and equipped with the state-of-the-art, specialized technology necessary for successful treatment of advanced heart failure and heart transplant.
The Center for Advanced Heart Failure is now located on the 25th floor of the Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza located at 6400 Fannin Street. The new office space features state-of-the-art exam rooms, expanded registration areas and large procedure areas with specialized equipment to treat cardiovascular disease. It is 12,000 square feet with four pods and 16 exam rooms, allowing for less wait time for patients and family members. The clinic will offer non-invasive cardiology services including echocardiography, electrocardiography, treadmill stress testing and cardio-pulmonary exercise testing.

Jennifer's Story - Heart Attack at 32
After a heart attack left 32-year-old Jennifer Cheak, a mother of two young boys, with a faint heartbeat and little hope at a Waco, TX hospital, she was transferred via Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Institute in Houston, where she received care from specialists at the Center for Advanced Heart Failure.
Venola was so overcome with joy at winning that the sweet victory did not sink in immediately. After all, it was only about 17 months after her lifesaving heart transplant.

Steve's Story - Heart Transplant
After several heart attacks and multiple unsuccessful attempts to manage his congestive heart failure, Steve sought a heart transplant team to begin a new journey. The process of heart transplantation can be daunting but the heart surgeons’ and specialists’ display of high competence and skill was a great relief to Steve.
When Clarence Fontenot was in junior high, he wanted badly to play football. But when his mother took him for his required physical, he immediately failed to get clearance to join the team.
